Before reading the story:
Ø Observe the picture. Write short sentences of what do you think is
happening in the scene using modal verbs (must/might/could/may/can/can’t…) or
adverbs (definitely, clearly, probably,
maybe, perhaps, possibly…).
i.e. Someone might be spying him / The man may
be blind / ...
Ø In pairs, think of what will happen next (will/going to, or
adverbs: definitely, clearly, probably,
maybe, perhaps, possibly, likely, unlikely…).
i.e. He will get up and find out what’s
going on
Ø In groups of 4, write a short story based on the picture using these words:
old man | heart | darkness | death | police officers
